The central coast of California doesn't always get the credit it deserves, especially when it's sandwiched between the likes of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. But while the beach communities may not have the same amenities as their more famous counterparts, they are every bit as destination-worthy. Here are just three picks that won't steer you wrong if you're looking for a quieter getaway.

Morro Bay

Morro Bay's most distinguishing characteristic is Morro Rock, a volcanic plug that rises 581 feet from sea level. In other words, it's hard to miss when you're driving along the scenic highway. This charming city is stuffed with all kinds of little gems around every corner. From art galleries to bistros to the bay itself, this sleepy town is anything but boring. Visit the resident otters and watch for seals as you stroll along the path on the outside of the rock. If you want a little more action, travel to nearby Paso Robles for a wine tasting and San Luis Obispo for serious shopping.

Monterey Bay

Monterey Bay may sound like Morro Bay, but Monterey is actually a few hours north along the coast. Monterey Bay is famous for its aquarium, a truly breathtaking collection of sea life that you need to visit at least once. (Whatever you do while you're there, make sure you stick around for the sardine swarm.) Play a round of golf in nearby Pebble Beach, enjoy the Museum of Art, and see historic Cannery Row up close. There are also plenty of places to sample some of the best seafood in the country.

Big Sur

The undeniable beauty of Big Sur is truly a masterpiece to behold. While Big Sur may not be known for its Wi-Fi connection, it doesn't mean you'll feel out of touch while you're there. With so many hiking trails, coves, and beaches to discover, you really can't go wrong when the mountains are set against the backdrop of the Pacific. While you're here, make sure to stop by McWay Falls. If you're feeling extra adventurous, you can rent or bring your own kayak and stand under this truly majestic waterfall.

No matter where you live in California, these destinations are worth the effort. Just the simple act of driving along the coast can be enough to inspire, relax, and rejuvenate practically anyone. As you discover the cities and the neighborhoods along the way, you'll get a better idea of what makes the Central Coast so special. It may not have the glamour of a night in the big cities, but the glitz of the sunlight bouncing off the ocean should be plenty to hold your interest.

“Real estate” means so much more to me than simply buying or selling property...I believe it’s all about the people behind those transactions. A house would never be a home without them. That is why my first question to you will always be “what are your goals and how can I help you get there?”

Helping someone to plan and achieve their goals is just as important as listening to what they are. I know first-hand from over a decade of experience just how much it can take to make it happen. With honesty, diligence, and resilience, however, no hurdle is unconquerable. I can guide you through the entire process, always making you feel comfortable, informed, and in control. Like I said before, you are always the first priority.

I chose to partner with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Real Time Realty because, just like me, they realize that real estate agents are much more than salespeople. Every person and every goal is just as important as the last - and Berkshire Hathaway has all the tools and resources to get the job done.

It’s been an absolute privilege to meet some of you and help you achieve your goals. I can’t wait to meet the rest. Whether you’re looking to buy, sell, or both, I am confident that I am the last agent you’ll need. A better future awaits...give me a call and let’s get started!
